Excel 2007 links to other workbooks not updating

Our office just change the office version from 2003 to 2007, for first few
days we were working parallel on both versions of excel. Since few days it is
only excel 2007.
We have lot of files linked to each other in excel, we use to open excel and
update links before which worked fine for few days but now links are not
updating any more, on top of that excel is forcing us to find the source for
each linked file every time we are trying to update links.

any suggestion are welcomed

Did you ever get a solution to this problem? We're having the same problem here with converting over to Excel 2007 from 2003. Once one file is converted to 2007 it changes the extension to xlsx and then the link doesn't recognize it because it's still looking for the xls extension.
