everything at lowest possible setting, possibly recovery mode

my computer is model is dell dimensions 2400, and well i reinstalled my
windows xp home edition onto my computer, and i have a few problems. it
seems to be in recovery mode, all the settings are at the lowest possible
level. i cant change my monitor screen resolution, color, etc. also, my
sound doesnt work. when i go to control panel>sound and audio devices, it
says "no audio device" and it will not let me change the device volume or the
speaker volume. please help!
 
Sound like you need to reinstall your device drivers, eg video/sound etc
Did the sys not come with a drivers disk/mobo drivers?
If not you need to visit Dell/Support enter your TAG and download the
drivers
