Having downloaded & installed ie7 over the prevoius ie6, i have
lost some of my sound playback. Going through the control panel, sound
& audio devices, to the volume tab, "no audio device" is indicated,
and no selections may be made in either device volume or speaker
settings. If I go to the Audio tab, "sound playback" & "sound
recording" display "modem #0 playback" & "modem #0 recording" as the
only options in the drop down menu.

Additionally, since the installation, my DVD drive will spin, but not
read a disk.

Any help would make me very grateful, Please somebody?

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight all the sound devices,
Action menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the device drivers
again automatically.
