ERROR MESSAGE ON XP INSTALLATION

When I try to repair my XP system , the following blue screen error message
appears half way through the installation
" A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down.......
PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED

Subsequent reboots restarts the installation where it left off and then
shuts down again when the message appears....
Cant get out of the loop.....SAFE MODE tells me it cannot do the
installation and shuts down.....No success with a floppy bootup, just the
error message and shut down......
