HOW CAN I STOP XP INSTALL ?

After a trojan attack, I removed the infection and attempted to repair my XP
system via the CD....
The install was aborted half way through and a blue screen ERROR message
appeared....
The problem I have is that I cannot now get to a MENU STARTING POINT on Hard
drive, CD ,(INSTALL RESTARTS WHERE IT LEFT OFF AGAIN FOLLOWED SHORTLY BY A
BLUE SCREEN MESSAGE AFTER EACH REBOOT), XP bootup floppys (BLUE SCREEN ERROR
MESSAGE AT THE END
OF INSTALLATION) or Safe Mode (CANT ACCESS DUE TO ABORTED INSTALL) to give me
OPTIONS...

Can I STOP this install?

HELP

Thanks for that link
It seems that I need to be at the operating system start/my computer point
which I cant get to...After initial boot up my XP install screen begins where
it left off half way through to be followed shortly by my blue screen error
message then restart....Cant even get to the cd menu start with XP floppys as
the final one just brings up another blue scren error message......Cant even
get to SAFE MODE to try and reverse changes.......

Am lost......

If you've got another XP system, a quick way and sure to do this is to pull
the drive from the ailing PC, and attach it temporarily to the other system
as a secondary drive. USB2 drive cases are *great* for this.

When it's attached, you can simply edit the boot.ini with notepad. Save,
shut down, disconnect and put the drive back in the other machine.

However, if you've got data you actually wanted on that drive, this would be
a great occasion to copy it to the other system.

Many thanks Patrick
Reckon that looks the way forward here.....Never heard of a USB2 drive case
before but just checked and Amazon do one for £16 that looks like it would do
the job so I'll go for it.......Not sure about editing the boot.ini from
notepad but would love to save some files still on the ailing pc...
