DVD RW Not Recognized when a blank is insterted

It sounds like a problem with your DVD software. You don't say what DVD
software you are using. Does the DVD playback discs or is only the burning
function that is giving problems? I suggest you install the software for
the function that is giving the problem.
 
i solved the problem by removing SP2. The software I was having problems
with was Nero, PowerProducer Gold and 123 Copy DVD. I had also installed a
new burner and it didn't work from the start. Now that I have removed SP2 my
burner is working again.
