DVD Drive Problems

I have been having trouble writing data to CD-R's (Philips CD-R80) on a QSI
CDRW/DVD SBW-241. I keep getting fixation errors. I have writen the same
data onto a CDRW with success. I am also havng trouble installing Microsoft
Encarta 2000 (DVD) using the same drive. I apprciate that these problems are
probably not connected, but can anyone offer any guidance or direct me to a
more appropriate NG to resolve these problems. I have searched MS KB without
success including installing the <crow> patch.

What program are you using to write CDR? Check your drive is supported by
that program.

Nero - the same programme I successfully use to write the CDRW
