Thanks for replying but there is no option in properties to change the icon.
I am talking about the dvd drive in my computer near the hard drive.

Hello Raoul. Thanks again for replying to my post. So do you know how the
icon can changed. I managed to change the icon to my Hard Drive quite easy
but the DVD disk drive is giving me trouble. Thanks

More than likely you will need ResourceHacker and then open up shell32.dll
and look in Icon or Icon Group and you will find it. For
detailed instructions go to Neowin.net join the forums and post in
Customizing Windows Xp forum with your question.

Hi Angel,

You can try this method I found with a Google search:
Start, Run, type regedit, and click OK

Go to the Registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
SOFTWARE\
Microsoft\
Windows\
CurrentVersion\
Explorer\
DriveIcons

and create a new key that contains the drive letter of the drive that
you want to change the icon for. Create a subkey DefaultIcon and set the
value to the full path to the icon for this drive.

I do not have a DriveIcons folder under Explorer, so if it is the same
with you, you may have to create that also.

If you are not familiar with editing the registry, I would not recommend
you doing this.

A simpler method may be to use an icon program, such as IconPhile:
