Duplicate name exists on the network

When I power up my pc, the duplicate name exists on the
network pops up every time. I went to microsoft.com to
find a solution to the problem, and I found article
298593 how to use netdom.exe utility to rename a computer
in windows xp. They tell me to look at my office xp
professional cd to download some support files, but I
cannot find them on the cd. Any help would be
appreciated.

An easier way would be to right click My Computer, choose Properties,
Computer Name and then Change.
