duplicate name on network

when my pc bootsup (winXP home ed), a wyn system error
message comes up: "a duplicate name exists on network".
I have been unable to locate this duplicate name.
what is this about?
how do i correct this??

Each computer on your network MUST have a unique name in the Device
Management. Also, the computer name can not be the same as the domain
name/workgroup name.

It is about exactly what it says; another computer on your network has
the same name as yours.

Easiest thing to do is to rename your computer. Right click My Computer,
Properties, Computer Name, Change button, change the computer name. Then
restart.
