Design on Slide Master is not showing up on presentation

I have created a background on the slide master, but not all of the design is
showing up on the presentation.

I am using a design where I have a text box on the left and right side of
the slide (length fits horizontal length of slide) and the text box contains
the name of the organization I work for. When I close master view, only the
left side of my design is showing up. Any ideas on what the problem could
be??

Is there a background-colored object on the slide itself that's covering it
up?

Nope, I have not added a picture or anything that might cover it up.

I am using PPT 2003.
