Defender Beta 2 error

After installing Defender Beta 2 (german) on my Win 2000 SP 4 (german)
machine I get the follwing error message on program startup: "Application
failed to initialize: 0x80010534. Zuordnungen von Kontennamen und
Sicherheitskennungen wurden nicht durchgeführt."

Is there any known fix for this? I found nothing via google for this
particular problem but there seem to be many reports.
