Hi,

I have sucessfully installed Windows Defender Beta2 on my system (Win2K -
German 5.00.2195 SP4). The GDI+ Environment is also installed. Yet Windows
Defender keeps coming up with the followin start-up error message:
"Zuordnungen von Kontennamen und Sicherheitskennungen wurden nicht
durchgeführt" which is loosely translated into "No mapping of account names
and security IDs".

I have made sure that the German version of Defender had been installed to
eliminate potential language incompatibilities. Also I have tried all the
offered solutions and workarounds (like creating a "user account") etc - to
no avail.
Defender still refuses to start.

By analysing the other posts it seems to me that the problem may still be a
language related problem but that there is still no offer to solve the
problem by Microsoft.

Is there anyone out there with a good hint on what else I might try to get
Defender running now that the installation was successful enough to eliminate
Beta 1 from the system?

Thanks a million for your help.

Regards,

Hello, To day I just documented the same problem .I still have it, in the
same environnement ...cf the discussion group "installation." I thought more
specific to this step of the process
I feel better seeing I am not the only one to get this problem and I
reinforced your demand for a method to fix this critical issue.
