Default Printer XP

I changed my default printer by every method I can think of, but when I
re-boot, it selects the old default printer. I use both printers, and I was
able to switch easily before I got a new laptop. This new one was re-loaded
with all the old programs, so I don't know why it suddenly won't work. I've
changed the default printer several times, but it still goes back to the
original default. Anyone else experienced this?

Is you laptop part of a domain? If so perhaps your admin sets your default
for you, I know we set our user's default on logon.

Any reason you cannot disable or delete the old default printer?

I still use the default printer. One printer is for my home, the other for
my office. I had been able to switch the default as needed, but now it is
always the home printer.
