Setting Default Printer

I have two printers (HP and Brother) and two printer drivers installed on my
computer. The HP printer is currently set as the default printer and I am
trying to make the Brother printer, the default printer.

If I go into Start>Control Panel>Printers and Faxes and select the Brother
icon and set it as the default printer, the Brother printer indeed gets set
as the default printer in all applications as long as I am logged on.

Once I log off (i.e., shut the computer) and re-start, HP gets reset as the
default printer. So, I have to switch the default printer setting to Brother
each time I logon.

I have administrator privileges and am running Windows XP Home Service Pack
2. How can I set the default printer so that it does not reset when I
log-off? What am I doing wrong?

You should check with HP as to whether that is a feature of their drivers.
If indeed that is the case, then HP would have to arrange rewriting the
drivers.
