Hi- I have a problem with my microphone and Line In when using my sound
control on my computer. Those two functions are no longer available when I
record audio on my computer (my sound control is SOUNDMAX, motherboard is
ASUS, OS is Win XP). I looked up possible solutions and saw the thread
"sndvol32.exe file missing" and tried using cmd to solve this problem but the
cmd but it didn't help. Can anyone help me here?

Thank you for your help Mike. I did as the thread said but unfortunately it
didn't help. I do hear playback sound but my sound system (soundmax)
interface, the playback and recording sections have been "greyed" out. They
seem not to be there anymore-in any case they don't work- and no sound can be
heard after I record something. Also under sound and audio device properties>
audio tab> sound recording the "advanced" button has been greyed out and
under voice tab> voice recording> the "advanced" button here has also been
greyed out.

Does this mean I have to install new drivers? The drivers all say they are
working correctly in the device manager....

Any clues? Thanks for your help!
