CTRL/D in Draft (itself, not list) brings up FONT rather than del.

I can delete an item (task, contact, email, etc.) while that item is being
viewed by pressing CTRL/D. A draft email item however responds to CTRL/D by
bringing up the Font window. (Note: In the Format menu it is not idnicated
that CTRL/D is a shortcut for FONT.)
Why?

Because you're using WordMail as your editor, so the command bars are Word's
