Connection disconnects when incoming call

I have a computer that runs Windows XP and whenever I'm online (dial-up) my
Internet Connection disconnects whenever I get an incoming call. However,
when I connect with my 2nd computer (running Windows 98) it DOES NOT
disconnect when I get an incoming call.

Is there a setting in XP that will prevent my computer from disconnecting
when receiving an incoming call? Why does this not happen when I use the
computer that runs Windows 98?

Thanks.

Try disabling Call Waiting on the XP machine. You can configure that in
modem properties.

Disabling Call Waiting worked. I am no longer being disconnected while
online, because the callers get a busy signal. But, I really wanted to see
the incoming calls on my Caller ID. I am able to do this using Windows 98,
but not with Windows XP.

Thanks for answering me question though.
