System disconnect

Hi,

I have a single phone line and use a dial up account.

Years ago, when people used to telephone me, my modem would disconnect
and let the call come through.

I'd like that to happen again but can't seem to make it work.

I tried having call waiting on but the computer seems to ignore the
beeps rather than disconnecting and I miss the call.

I really can't afford another phone line or broadband... is there a way
to make this auto disconnect on incoming call happen? I've scoured the
net to no avail.

Years ago, did you have the same computer? Your modem must support these
extra functions and you need a program called something like "Net
Waiting".
