incoming call alert

I have dial-up & when an incoming call from the regualr phone line was coming
in a screen came up and advised me and asked if I wanted to disconnect ...

Now it doesn't do that - all my firends call & I don't get the message &
they just
get ringing on their end....

I have looked everywhere to reactivate this feture - Can someone please tell
me how & where to go..... Thanks

What dialup service do you have? Some, like Earthlink, have a feature that
does this.
Try a search in Help and Support for 'Internet Call Notification'. It may
only work
when call waiting is activated so see if you're dialing *70 before your
dialup number.

Just remembered something else - this could be a feature of your modem
software.
Did you change modems?

internet call director.
in your dialing string have *70,your isp number
or go to start menu and look for your call director program
and bring it up so you can change setting.

I am having the same problem where the incoming call alert came up for a
while and now it doesnt, I have call waiting and tried the *70 before the
dial up number but then it just rang busy instead of ringing and ringing. Im
wonering if its something we had as a trial and have to subscribe to now??
Did anyone ever find something that worked?
