connection defaults

When using Internet Explorer 6, my chosen default setting under
Tools/Internet options/Connections frequently reverts from "Always
dial my default connection" to "Never dial a connection" for no
apparent reason. Does anyone know what may be causing this, and how I
can stop it happening? I am using Windows XP home edition. When I
return the setting to "Always dial my default connection", I click on
Apply and then OK.
