Im having some trouble trying to get the information iv set for a dialup
connection to save. Ounc everything else is set and i finaly choose to
"Always dial my default connection" and then click "Apply" at the bottom,
restart the system, but for some reason this part dosent save. The settings
seem to be just stuck on "Never dial a connection".

What could be causing this ?

Iv tryed removing the default connection and creating a new one. Iv also
tryed using differnt network clients.

Hi Kevin,
Try to Clear your Caches and delete your Cookies and Internet files, then
Select the Dail up my Default Connection and Click Apply and then OK, do not
restart your Computer yet, open IE and serve the internet.
IE seems to remember the last Settings.
Then Reboot.
If you have AV with internet Protection can also cause this behavior try to
disable the IE protection and do your changes and reboot then Enable AV IE
protection before connecting to the Internet.
Hope this helps
Please write back with your experince
Regards
nass

More likely you will find that your setting is being made
but then *something* is quickly resetting it.

The settings

ISP customization? Other third-party software? E.g. my mother had
an Internet Call Display service which continually messed with
GlobalUserOffline (and probably other values too) and thus prevented
her from using Work Offline when she wanted. There was nothing
she could do to have both the service (even while disconnected)
and a Working Offline state.

What I would do is use RegMon with a filter set to SetValue
to find out which values are set when you use the Connections Settings
dialog. Then change the filter to match just those values and let it run
to try to capture which program is resetting it and when.

Good luck
