IE defaults to dial-Up when both dial-up & satellite are used

I'm switching to satellite internet but I need to keep my dial-up ISP email
for awhile. I've configured Outlook 2003 for both the dial-up ISP and
satellite email. In order to access my dial-up ISP email, I need to connect
using the dial-up connection. Otherwise Outlook will fail to send email
messages. However this is an IE6 forum and I do believe the problem is with
IE6.

IE6 shows the dial-up connection in the Connections tab (Dial-up and Virtual
Private Network settings) of Tools/Internet Options. If I am connected
through dial-up, IE6 uses the dial-up connection instead of the satellite
connection.

If I delete the connection from the IE6 Connections tab, it deletes the
actual dial-up connection completely from the system (Networking
connections). Why does it do this? I only want to remove it from IE6, not
from the system.

Is there a way to tell IE6 to never use the dial-up connection, even if it
is active? Or, am I in the wrong forum, and is there a way to access my
dial-up ISP email through my satellite connection?

Thanks,
