Windows 7 CMD pop up

Every time I restart or start my laptop up, running W7 Home Premium, as soon as it gets to the desktop I get a blank CMD window open up. Nothing in the window and nothing along the top where it would normall say CMD C:\ etc.
Have run Housecall and Malwarebites and nowt has come up.

Any ideas ?

Has anything been entered into your startup folder?

Start 'msconfig' and check the startup tab see if anything points a finger in there?

probs a better solution, but just thinking off top of me head

BOINC and Avast are the only two in startup. I'm going to take both out and see what happens then

All up to date with updates. I just started in safe mode and it doesn't pop up

No it just pops up and vanishes within a few seconds. Not even enough time to grab a screenshot

This happens on our slower computers at work while it runs logon scripts for mapped drives. If this is a personal PC, however, this likely doesn't apply.
