clearing old web addresses

Jeff

I there a way to clear out old web addresses from the
address bar? Everytime I type in a web address, the pull
down menu gives me a list of old obsolete web addresses.
I don't want to get rid of the autocomplete entirely just
clear the list and start over.

Jeff,

Then try this: control panel>internet options>content
tab>autocomplete>uncheck the box for web addresses>OK>OK out. If you want to
also clear the drop down list in the search engine, you must uncheck the
forms box. You must re-enable these items again if you want to start keeping
them from this point onward. Clearing forms button will remove the
auto-suggest from the search engine but will not remove the addresses from
the address bar drop down list.

Jeff,
How about a simple cure, clear the history in your browser and you'll
be starting over from scratch on the autocomplete.

Are you sure that this method you've described will work? It does nothing
for my address bar dropdown list. Just to be sure, I've tried it just now
and....I stand by that conviction. Try it yourself with addresses and forms
enabled in IE Options>Content tab>autocomplete.

Get back to us on that, would you?

By the means I've stated; IE Options>Content Tab>Autocomplete>Uncheck "use
autocomplete for web addresses">OK>OK out. Be sure that you close your
browser and re-open it and do a test. It works for me; I've just done it 3
times now.

Now if you are referring to the arrow dropdown on the right that is
accomplished by clearing history.
