how can i clear the autocomplete web address bar/!

hello, i've tried to clear the autocomplete web address bar every way
imaginable and it's STILL not working. and low and behold when i try and
delete it using the "clear autocomplete" button it simply locks up internet
explorer. any suggestions? thanks

Hi,
The History folder may be corrupt. Try deleting your History folder using
the appropriate (for your version of Windows) instructions at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Or, these may be in a TypedURLs key in the registry. This article explains
the TypedURLs history:

For an easy, safe removal method, go to
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
and download "DelTypedURL." This INF file will remove all entries from the
TypedURLs list.
