Changing Favorites Location?

There is some interaction with Earthlink that causes my
Favorites to be changed from the /Documents and
Settings/sheila folder to an /earthlink/user directory.

It happened once a few months ago and I thought all I did
to restore it back was Internet Tools -> Programs ->
reset IE to orginal settings. However, I've tried this
and it's not working now. I've looked thru all the other
settings and even tried to find something in the registry
to no avail.

All the favorites I care about are in the standard
directory. Thanks to earthlink I'm frustrated...any ideas
for me on how to fix this annoying problem?

If you have TweakUI installed, click on the My Computer tab for Special Folders.

The "Special Folders" section lets you view and edit the locations of the various Windows special folders. Select the folder from the "Folder" section and change it by clicking the "Change Location" button.

This is a per-user setting. You will need to log off and back on for the changes to take effect.

If you don't have TweakUI, post back with your OS version.

You can change the value of Favorites in the Registry in these
two keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders
