Running windows xp media on acer laptop, OS installed on HD brand new .

System is set in english as pc was bought in english speakng country. Buyer
is Brazilian, and wants to change the default language to brazillian
(portuguese). Can this be done? I have changed the input languages and can
toggle between these, but he is looking to a change of language to OS itself.
That is, when he clicks on START, the options for MY DOCS and CONTROL PANEL
etc come up in portuguese. Any help well received. Thanks Paul

Can't be done. You will have to buy a Portuguese version of XP. Ubuntu,
OTOH, will let you choose between hundreds of languages when you set it
up. www.ubuntu.com

Microsoft Windows XP is written in specific language versions.
In order to change from one language version to another, you
would need to purchase a "Full Version" of Windows XP in
your desired language (i.e. Portuguese) and perform a "clean install".

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS to
another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of WinXP
(in whatever language you want) to perform a clean installation.
