CDROM drive un recognized

HI,
I got a problem after un-installing pinnacle v8.6 under
my windows xp home edition v5.1.2600. My laptop is Sony
Vaio GR370.

Problem statement:
driver loaded successfully but can not recognize device
(code 41)

Windows cannot start this h/w device because its
configuration information (in teh registry) is incomplete
or damaged (code 19).

Appreciate very much if anyone can help resolve the
problem.

Hi

Try boot in safe mode and login as administrator.
Go to device manager and uninstall the CD-rom then reboot
Let windows search and re-install the Cd-rom driver
