CD roms not reading??????

Hello all,

i bought a dell about a month ago, and just yesterday my cd-rom has not been
reading at all. its powered up, and the little green ligh even blinks, but
doesnt read, nor does the icon show in My Computer. any suggestions? I was
thinking it maybe a driver? but then again i didnt uninstall anything, or
delete anything where i could have messed something up?

check the dvd-/cd-drive, see if there is an error stated.
