CD/DVD drive unable to access

I can use Nero software to burn disks or backup but when I try to use Windows
"copy File to CD" in my D:\ drive I get a message, Unable to write to D:\
drive not accessable

Then why when you go to a folder:choose EDIT, Select all, and options to MOVE
selected items, or COPY selected items to CD are are offered?
