Network: Windows XP to MS Wired Base Station (MN-100).
Win 98 to MN-100. MN-100 to cable modem. Print server
from printer to MN-100. Can share win XP folders, etc. on
Winc 98 pc (Can see name of Win XP pc on My Network
Places on Win 98 pc). Can't see name of Win 98 pc when on
XP pc. Can print from both pc's.

Did from XP pc: Start,Run,cmd, ping x.x.x.x (address of 98
pc) >>everything ok. Did from XP pc: start, run, cmd, ping
computername (name of 98 pc) >>everything ok. Did from XP
pc: start, run, cmd, net user guest >>everything ok.

Did from both pc's: start,run,\\computername >>ok from 98
pc>> get "the network path was not found" when using 98
name from XP pc.

Help Please!!!

I have a similar problem with Win XP Home SP1. I can´t see
any PC´s in a workgroup I joined (connected via LAN),
despite positive pingtests. Firewalls OFF,
Internet-Connection works fine. Help very much appreciated.

I just got win xp home running on my rebuilt computer
after it crashed and fried just about everything. Had to
get new mb, hds. After getting running, we are connected
to the internet through a router. My wife is on ME and
now we can't share drives. I have a zip drive that she
would backup some of her files on. When I upgraded to xp
and installed over ME, everything was working fine. But
now we can't see each others computers. What do we need
to do to see them?
