XP and Windows 98 Network

My Microsoft MN-100 wired router went out this weekend and I replaced it with
a Dynex. I followed the setup instructions and both computers have access to
the internet; however, I can't seem to reconnect the shared files.

I ran the Network Wizard on the XP disk on both the XP computer and the 98
computer. I have checked the File and Print Sharing box in the Windows
Firewall exceptions. I'm also running Zone Alarm and the Mapped Drive, DHCP
Server and Loopback adapter are "Trusted."

I have not changed anything with the exception of adding a new router.
Prior to the new router, we could share files across my home network, but not
presently. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The new router might assign IP addresses in a different subnet than
your old one. If so, you'll probably have to re-configure ZoneAlarm
to trust the new subnet.

Thanks for your response; however, I'm not sure where to start. How do I
tell Zone Alarm to trust the new subnet? How do I establish the new subnet,
because I haven't done anything to Zone Alarm in the past?

I am assuming that I need to somehow configure the new router, but I'm not
sure how to do that either. If you could shed some light on the steps, I
would appreciate it.

Thanks for the link.
Under Zone Alarm's Firewall tab, I have a Mapped Drive entry,
DHCP entry and a Server and Loopback adapter. They are all identified as
"Trusted."
Shouldn't the second computer in my network have a similar ip address with a
different last two numbers? For example, 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2. How
do I ensure that this is occurring? Ping?
I'm trying to double check everything.

Thanks.

Using the ipconfig command, I determined that the new ip addresses that the
new router assigned were different than those stored in Zone alarm. Revising
the addresses and identifying them as "Trusted" corrected the problem and
sharing has been restored.

Thanks to those who helped.
