can't open site in FP

I have a site which I've constructed in FP (using FP2003);

www.dminadventures.net

I've opened it for a couple of years with no issues, but yesterday used
cuteftp to upload a file too large to easily import through FP.

After closing out of the ftp program, frontpage won't access the site. It
connects to the web server, lets me input the username, and then when I
enter the password blanks the password out, while retaining the username.

the password i'm entering is correct; i can use the same login info and
still get in through cuteftp.

I found several .web files related to the site, deleted them all and then
emptied recycle bin and rebooted.

what else can I try?

thanks, Erin Cox-Holmes

uninstalled and reinstalled the extensions; that didn't work. they've
escalated it up the tech support chain

FYI: In the future, create a FP subweb for files that you have to upload via FTP.

I did; but then, I was in a hurry, and like an idiot logged in to the whole
site and then navigated to the subweb in the ftp program. I know it's
completely my fault.

At the moment, we're resetting the permissions on the entire site, and then
the host will reinstall the fp extensions from their end and hope that
resolves it.

I can now get in through the ip address, but not the domain name. When I
attempt to open through the domain name, www.dminadventures.net I get the
cannot open we80.cnf file.
what next??

the host responded:

We believe that the problem has been fixed.

We have uninstalled FPSE on 'erinchdub' account. deleted all _vti hidden
folders and installed FPSE again.
We can access FP management from your Host Pilot at Web/FTP Server > Apache
Server > Add-Ons > FrontPage2002 > Administration (we specified 'erinchdub'
username and password to logon).

We also can open your site with FrontPage (I have 2003) at http://64.78.295
specifying 'erinchdub' username and password (screenshot is attached).
