Can't delete ".mov" file

Using Windows XP

There are two large ( 492,000 KB ) ".mov" files on my system that I
can't delete. They're both video clips of an editor's rough-cut on a
film project. When I try to delete them I get the ERROR Message
saying that they're "being used by another person or program."

I'm not on a network. They are not being used by someone else. They
are not being played. I've tried to delete them after booting the
system without launching any application other than Windows Explorer.

I have approximately 40 GB of free space on my drive, in case that
makes any difference.

Is there a way to delete these files?

Thanks,

Try running the free utility Unlocker on 'em:

Possbily you can use Task Manager and look for which program might be still
accessing it, and then temporarily end that task (assuming it's a program
doing this, and not something more systemic like svchost or whatever).
Then you should be able to delete it. (And then reboot after you're done
doing that).
