I now have over 100 emails in my inbox and deleted items folder.
If someone dfoesnt come up with a solution soon.
I am scrapping windows mail altogether.

Why should someone have to go thru all that? And if it keeps happening I
should redo my account each time?? That is not a solution!! I didn`t have
this problem with outlook express!! Its microsoft`s problem and they need
to
fix it!!

No one should have to do all that. So what? We give the help we can, but
we're not Microsoft. See

Is there anyone from Microsoft that can tell me how to fix this?? None of
any
suggestions posted has worked! Very frustrated!!

If you have a message you can't delete from the Outbox and you tried WMUtil
and it didn't work then you didn't follow the instructions. See
http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil
Please read ALL of the instructions.

What do you mean WMUtil doesn't work. If buttons are grayed out then you
didn't follow the instructions about Task Manager. See

Please read ALL of the instructions.

Thank you for your message - I am having this same problem and went to the
site you mentioned (http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil), performed the download and
tried to execute the WMUTil. Where I'm having problems is that the Database
functions are disabled when the display comes up - I tried to rectify this
with the advice at that website (in larger print in the red box) by closing
WinMail and performing a CTRL-SHIFT-ESC, but when I do that, there are no
WinMail.exe processes to click on to end. I tried restarting my computer and
beginning the WMUtil.exe again and I have the exact same results. Please
advise. Thank you!

I'm sure someone has posted this, but this little FREE program has
bailed me out a LOT of times, not sure it will do Inbox though...
(I had had ZERO problems with it, seems solid, and it's free.)

I curse the day I purchased a new HP with dual-core and
Vista. Wish I had waited, my XP Pro was MUCH better,
and was even a LOT faster, IMHO. LOL - and I can
look forward to PURCHASING the 64 bit version to
eventually get the speed ... :-(

Please ignore my last message as I figured out what I was doing wrong! But I
am still having a problem... I used the File Utilities buttons as follows -
first I checked the File Statistics and saw that there was indeed one file
that was blank (I assume the one email I'm having problems deleting) so then
I went ahead and hit "Clean Blank Files." It indicated that one file was
cleaned, so I closed the utility and went to my WinMail, only to see that the
message is still in my inbox and still cannot be deleted. I restarted my
computer and it's still there and the File Statistics show that there are no
blank files any longer - please advise. Thank you!

In Task Manager, Processes tab, try clicking on the "Show processes from all
users" button and see if WinMail. exe shows up.

What are you trying to fix?
WMUtil won't remove non-deletable files from the Inbox, only the Outbox.

But it only clears the Outbox.

I followed the instructions and had no luck with deleting anything. Any
other suggestions?

Are the buttons grayed out in WMUtil?
Is your problem with the Outbox?
You're jumping into someone else's thread and we don't really know what your
problem is.

Have you found out how to delete e-mails?

I have a message like that too and none of the suggestions
has worked for me thus far.

Thank you for your message - yes, I am trying to remove an email from my
Inbox but didn't realize that WMUtil won't do that. I guess I was misled by
the title of this topic ("Can't delete message from folder Inbox), which
sounded to me like it was addressing my problem. Is there any way whatsoever
to delete a file "stuck" in my Inbox? Any and all advice would be most
definitely appreciated!

If you are not willing to just ignore them, the only way is to delete both
copies of the database (which does not contain the messages, but only
references to them) and let WinMail rebuild it.
First close WinMail, then use Task Manager to make sure there are no
instances of it under applications or processes.
Then click Start | Search | Advanced Search
Check the box to include non-indexed, hidden and system files.
In the Name field type WindowsMail.MSMessageStore and click the Search
button.
It should show you two copies. Delete both of them and re-open WinMail.
