I`m having the same problem, only it`s in the Drafts folder, I`ve tried
everything that has been suggested, some one even told me to change my
virus
protector,& I`m still having problems.

If you are not willing to just ignore them, the only way is to delete both
copies of the database (which does not contain the messages, but only
references to them) and let WinMail rebuild it.
First close WinMail, then use Task Manager to make sure there are no
instances of it under applications or processes.
Then click Start | Search | Advanced Search
Check the box to include non-indexed, hidden and system files.
In the Name field type WindowsMail.MSMessageStore and click the Search
button.
It should show you two copies. Delete both of them and re-open WinMail.
WinMail will work in the background and recover all of the messages that are
really there.

Oddly, it wouldn't let me delete both files, just one, so hence the email is
still stuck in my Inbox...I can still send and recieve email, but it really
irritates me having this stuck in there...has anyone found a solution to get
rid of this? It ticks me of because when you call Dell to resolve the issue,
they want to charge you over a hundred bucks, so obviously that is not the
answer.

Use Task Manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc) and close WinMail.exe in the Applications
tab AND in the Processes tab. Then try WMUtil.

Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Your resolution worked a
treat. I can recommend this to anyone looking to rid themselves of these
stubborn emails that will not go away from your Inbox!
Cheers

I have the same problem I have one stuck in my outbox and now it won't let me
send any emails, I've called Dell, etc. no help. I will try the suggestion
below to see if that works.

Hi Frank - I followed your advice on this and now I cannot access any saved
emails via Windows Mail however by saving my search I have located these
emails. I have saved a shortcut to them but cannot copy them to disc or put
them back in Windows Mail. Also every time I open Windows Mail I get a new
recovered messages folder which is more annoying than having a message that
won't delete. Any solutions ?

Frank - I did this and now I can't stop WinMail from downloading Recovered
Files. Each time I open the program, I get a new set of Recovered messages.
Can you help?

Valerie.

And what do you find in that new folder?

And what is in the Recovered Mail folder? Hint: it is not anything just
downloaded.
