What you have to lose is loss of all the database data because you wiped out
the entire database.

You don't need to be a computer technician to learn how to create
directories and copy files. If you don't know how to do that, then you
should learn.

HELLO EVERYONE WHO IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE UNDELETEABLE EMAIL THAT SAYS"
AN UNKNOWN ERROR HAS OCCURRED". I JUST SPENT AN HOUR ON THE PHONE WITH AN
AWESOME DELL COMPUTER TECH AND THEY RESOLVED MY SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS WHAT HE
DID:
BACK UP YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT AND MESSAGES AND THEN DELETE THE ENTIRE EMAIL
ACCOUNT AND CREATE A BRAND NEW ONE. THEN DOWNLOAD EVERYTHING BACK IN AND THAT
ONE PESKY EMAIL WAS GONE!!!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM.
THANKS TO DELL AND ARNOLD, MY HEADACHE IS GONE!!!!

I'd think twice before following the advice of someone
who can't even use a Caps lock key.

You can add me to the list, very disappointed with Vista "Joe Public" do
not
have the time or IT knowledge to be "fixing" their PC when they don't work
as
they are supposed to do, very frustraiting and annoying.

What do you want me to do about it? I try to help people. Steve writes
programs to make fixing the problems easier. If you don't want help fixing
your problems why are you even posting here? Whining that Microsoft should
fix it won't help you. Sure they should fix it, but I don't see them doing
so.

HAS ANYONE CONTACTED THEIR VIRUS PROGRAM TECHS?
THAT'S WHAT I'M GOING TO DO.
WIPING OUT MY INBOX WITH 2,000 EMAILS DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A FEASIBLE THING
TO
DO.

If you read all the other replies then you know you don't have to wipe out
your inbox to fix the problem.

I cannot delete an email in my Sent Items, and it seems to be causing a block
on receiving others. How can I delete this email?

Thanks so much.
Elaine

I found an easy way that worked for me.
Highlight the undeleteable message, Right click and click on "Mark as unread"
Then click on delete. The message then goes to the delete box. From there
click on Delete and the message disappears.
It may be worth a try for you guys!

Frank, this was not a rant at you, I know you're trying to help, I was only
adding my name to this endless list of Vista users that are having this
problem. I'm on this site for help but I'm very apprehensive about delving
into my computer programs that I know nothing about. At the moment I chose to
ignore the message that I can not remove in my "sent" box, however I'm
collecting as much info from this site so if the dreaded error occurs in my
"out" box and leaves me with a none functioning email account I may be able
to fix it with your help.

Didn't work...

Who cares? Some use ONLY lower case, some use ONLY upper case, especially if
at work and they are on a certain program using either...what should it
matter? Each person can do what works for them, regardless of what caps they
are typing in!

Fair enough... PLONK.

I don't like to complain but, you sound pretty irritated about all this, and
probably as much as some of us are. We should not have to be going through
this crap every couple of months. I went through this same thing months ago.
This is too complicated for those of us that are not computer literate. I
consider myself pretty computer literate, but this is very confusing to me.
I agree that microsoft should get off their butts and fix this. I wish I
still had windows xp and outlook express.

It sort of depends on whether or not you want people to bother reading your
message.

I never bother.
It's a pretty good rule of thumb that all caps identify
the typist as a member of the awkward squad and
too bitter and twisted to help.

I have the same problem. Has anyone been successful in fixing it with the
instructions to move and delete then move back the msgs?

Don't "move" the messages back, import them.
