Can't connect after hibernation.

If I hibernate my laptop (XPH SP2), when I come out of hibernation (the
laptop, not me), I can start my broadband connection, but I cannot got
out to websites, using Firefox. If I do a restart though I can then
connect to websites etc.
Is this an XP problem or might it be to do with BitDefender firewall
which I installed recently?
THanks.

Open your Device Manager, scroll down to the Network Adapter,
right-click on the Network Adapter, select Properties > Power Management.
Then uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
and click OK.

Thanks for the speedy response Carey. I've done the above but it didn't
fix the problem. I'm going to see if I get the same problem with
standby.

Nope, standby does the same. The only way I can get out to the net is by
a restart/reboot. Maybe it is BitDefender but I can't see how!
