Hibernation problem

I am running xp on my Sony laptop. When I restart the computer after
hibernation, I immediately connect to my wifi network, however if I start IE
or Firefox, my homepage cannot be found, and the computer does not recognize
that it is connected to the internet. Any suggestions?

I am hoping you get a reply to this question regarding the computer not
recognizing that it is connected to the internet because mine is doing
the same thing. Have gone so far as to remove my router thinking it
was an IP issue. Thanks
