Can't backup to dvd-rw/cd-rw drive

Martin J. Buxton

Using the backup utility, I get the message:

"The backup filename could not be used."
"E:\backup.bkf"
"Please ensure that it is a valid path, and that you have
sufficient access."

It's a Toshiba dvd-rw/cd-rw drive.

Would appreciate any help.

The XP backup utility cannot back up directly to a CD-R drive. The
workaround is to back up to a folder on the hard drive and then burn that
folder to a CD-R disk. You may need to do some creative planning to keep the
files small enough to fit on each CD.

A much better option, IMO, is to get a disk imaging program.
