Anybody come across this before.
DELL Dimension E520 XPHome SP3, SATA DVD-RW
Computer is clean, no Virus's, or spyware.
DVD-RW drive not showing in My computer, DVD-RW drive showing confict in Device manager, tried usual Uninstall/re-install. no joy
Replaced the Hardware with new, same problem. Even tried External USB DVD-RW, same problem.
Tried new SATA cable. Tried 4 SATA ports on board. Same problem.
The only way i can get the Drive to show & work is to install another HDD,& install new O/S.
But as we all no that does not tell me the reason it happened in the first place.
Come on, the rest of you detectives, HELP!!!
