cd & dvd drive Problem

Mine is Windows XP with SP2 PC.

I have LG CD RW and recently I bought SONY DVD RW.

Now I am facing a very peculiar problem.

I cannot play my CD RWdisc from my CD Drive (which I could do previously)
but can play the same from DVD RW Drive.

Again I cannot play DVD RW disc from my DVD Drive.

Can somebody please tell me the reason for this peculiar problem and
possible solution to overcome this.

No the Icon doesn't change.

Does your DVD/RW icon change to saying CD/RW when you put a CD in the
DVD? [Look in My Computer while putting a CD into the DVD player.]
If so, physically disconnect the CD/RW cables inside the computer, and
try again.
Fixed? Hardware conflict.
