CAN NOT RECORD SONY DVD-RW

P

Paul Koukos

I bought some Sony DVD-RW speed 1-4 x and on my HP Computer every time I
record with a program called ConvertXtoDVD I get Incorrect disk in my DVD
Player. Other brands I have no problem with them. I have used speeds from
1x to 8x so far with the same program, and all work just find.

The files that I am trying to record are .avi

Any ideas or suggestions. I hate to waste 100 DVD-RW that I bought a few
months back.

Thanks.

Sorry, but there is no magic that will make your drive compatible with your
discs. Give them to a friend, eBay them, or whatever.

I would consider posting this "question" on www.rpc1.org. That web
forum site deals with a lot of DVD "writing" questions.

I do recall that most DVD recording drives tend to have an internal
"database" in their firmwares with a list of "compatible" DVD medias.
This "database" can be updated with the latest firmware for the
correct drive. Also, on the "mentioned" web forums site, there was
posted a tools to "tweak" the DVD id code.

Note: All DVD media disk, no matter which format, contain a
"descriptor" code to tell the DVD drive how to use the media. The
code tends to not be the same as the "brand" of DVD media disk.
