cannot send email messages with attachments

outloook 2003 configured on new computer.
can send emails without attachments.
can not send emails without attachments.

they are apparently not refused by my provider, because i
can connect with a my old laptop and send the same
attachments.

message i receive is...
Task pop.sao.terra.com.br sending reported error
=x8004210B. The operation timed out waiting for a response
from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive
this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet Service Provider (ISP)

Not sure if this will resolve the problem...the
description seems a little different that my problem. I
can successfully send mail without attachments. I can
receive mail (both with and without attachments.)

I'll try this. Willalso try disabling one by one the
McAfee Internet security components.

Increase the timeout length your client is waiting. Tools>E-mail
Accounts>View or change existing e-mail accounts>Next. Select your account.
Click Change and then the Advanced tab. Move the "Server Timeouts" slider.
