error code

I'm having a hard time sending & receiving.
the "Outlook Send/Receive Progress" window pops up
it says "0 of 2 Tasks have completed successfully"

Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed
out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP).'


Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed
out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to
receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service
provider (ISP).'

then later:
Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0B) : 'Unknown Error
0x800CCC0B'

I have 2 incoming addresses...one email still won't send after 3 days,
others are very slow to leave the Outbox. Incoming is slow too.
My ISP says that it's a microsoft problem, I've gotten all my up dates, and
ran my anti-spyware & anti-virus programs...found the consicker & quarantined
it. Outlook is a little better but still not right.

Please help with these error codes.

Yes, this seems to have helped.
the reference articles refer mostly to Outlook
express---I assume it's the same for OUTLOOK???
i.e. I do not use Outlook Express.
