cannot receive e-mails

I cannot receive e-mails. I have Macafee Virus Protection. I've disabled
the e-mail settings but it does not change anything. Is there somewhere else
that I should be looking?

Start by posting the entire contents of whatever error messages you're
receiving, please.

McAfee antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
The only way you can prove or disprove that McAfee is the culprit is to
uninstall it, followed by using their debris removal tool:

If you decide to replace McAfee, we can recommend a free antivirus
program which is more compatible with Windows Mail:

Hi

I can receive mail, but I can't send from the account. I am using McAfee
Security Suite.

With respect to McAfee, please refer to my response to Roger (below).

There is a possibility your send failure is not caused by McAfee.
Do you get an error message when you try to send? If so, right-click
on the error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

Would you believe me if I told you that there is no error message. There was
when this first happened, but not now!! Typical, I know! I agree, and as
soon as I can get a peek at an error message, I'll post it.

many Thanks

So sending fails without any error message? What makes you believe
it failed?
What happens to the message you are sending, does it stay in the
Outbox, or does it go into the Sent Items folder?
