blue screen came up saying out computer had to shut down
This is called the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). Normally, it gives a
reason. You need to write down the addresses and what error is being
reported.
If you have Auto restart on failure, you will not be able to do this. It
will put the message out and immediately reboot. You will not be able to
write anything down.
You should turn that off. Do the following from the STart Menu:
1. Start Menu | Run and enter sysdm.cpl, then click on OK
2. Click on the Advanced Tab
3. Click on Settings button for Startup and Recovery
4. Uncheck Automatically Restart in System Failure section
5. Click Ok twice to make change
Now when the system fails and reports error, it will not reboot
automatically. You can then write down the message(s).
These messages are also kept in the Event Viewer log.
1. Start Menu | Run and enter eventvwr.msc, then click OK
2. Look in the System section for Errors, detailing the crash.
The System32 popup:
That is actually a Windows Explorer window displaying the
C:\Windows\System32 folder.
For some reason, you have a problem that shows the C:\Windows\System32 on
startup.
There are many places to look to try and locate what is causing that.
