Greetings!

My supervisor asked me how she can allow a reader only to view and print
document as is and NOT to save/modify under a different file name.

I tried the password to modify route but evidently one can still change the
document and save under a different name. Please advise.

We have XP Professional 2002. THANKS in advance!

Peace,
Len

You can try Tools > Protect Document and check Forms and add a password.

I forgot to add that this will not prevent the user from saving under a
different name, but they will noot be able to edit the docuemnt without the
password.

That's the way it works. Ultimately *any* document that a user can see can
be reproduced.

If they can print it, they can scan it and OCR it back to some digital
form. Cumbersome, but not impossible.

Could you please explain what OCR is? Thanks!
