Cached Exchange Mode grayed out

I am testing installing Outlook 2003 using the Custom Installation Wizard.
I checked the options there to enable cached mode. I also configured it to
remove old Office installations.

When I then install Office 2003 the option for Cached Exchange Mode is
grayed out.

What to do....
